december 2007 Warehouse Contest-December 6th, 2007 I didn't get to go to this one. But buc made it out and brought back photos of all the action. Looks like it was a pretty good time and some crazy stuff went down.
I think his name is Cory and he's from Bay City. He tied for first in whatever they called the intermediate division. There are sometimes when mesh shorts are not meant for bmx but, he was barspinning everything and flowing real smooth and fast. Actually, mesh short decrease weight so maybe they're always a good idea. Dillon was the other half of the tie for first. The wall ride look back did the trick.
Stewy put on a show and made a return visit to the rafters. Last year he did a rail ride on the beam, this time he went for the fufanu but hit his ribs on the deck of the rafters pretty hard after slipping off.
Malcom took home first with big flares out of small quarters and big flares out of bigger quarters.
****Don't forget there's another late session tonight, Friday the 7th at TRP. Another opportunity to make precious bmx memories that will likely appear on this web site within 2-7 days for only $5. And while your there, pick up some new tires or bars at the ever expanding pro shop/front desk/lobby. See you there**** ~Hanan Pass It On-December 6th, 2007 You've probably already heard that there will late bike session tomorrow (Friday the 7th, day of infamy) at TRP. I know it's late notice but that's never stopped the turnout before. 11pm-2am, $5. Tell your friends, I know you will. Here is the last late session and other TRP occurrences throughout the week, I can't keep up.
The honorees. Dane turned 20 I think and Dozak is now 24.
Craig has enough control for two riders. Back flip to tailwhip into the landing. Sparks and his handplant tailwhip thingamasomething. I'm not sure of this kid name but he went all out. He hit hard more than a few times, that padding worked though and he walked out the the session somehow. Carmickle was the winner of a surprise best trick contest. Nobody could understand what Dane was saying over the megaphone. I think Carmickle though the won a little feel from Rich. In reality he won a free tattoo from Rich at Division Tattoo. The feel was just a little bonus. This was a little earlier in the week. Kevin explores un chartered territory.
Some of the new stuff happening. This is the alternate position for this ramp. It is actually a bowl corner. Congrats to Loaf and Melissa who became parents on Thanksgiving Day. Their baby boy Tyler is the newest member of the Michigan bmx community. Procrastination-December 18th, 2007 I've always put things off until the last minute and I'm never on time. I was born a week late and with a black eye. This site is a reflection of my inability to be punctual. I always wind up updating about a week after I mean to. For the last few years, the people I work with have learned to tell be to be somewhere a half hour before I'm supposed. That way I'll be on time. I have to start setting the deadlines for my updates before we even take the pictures. Then they'll be done right after. I put the pro in procrastination, at least I'm pro at something. Here is a week's worth of visitors to TRP. Steve Byrnes is back--for good. I don't think I've mentioned that yet.
I recently realized that buc and carmickle are the only people who wear hoodless sweatshirts. They have their reasons.
While the new corner was still under construction, Kyle went after carving the tipped over bowl corner and 360ing out of it. He tried it about a hundred times. Just as he and Danger Dave were getting ready to leave, Kyle's back tire started a slow leak. While the tire slowly dripped air, he tried in one last time and pulled it.
Sparks broke in the new set up with backflip to fakie. It always amazes me how hard Sparks falls and how quick he gets up. He's not human.
He tried it a bunch the night we were there, but no luck. Sparks is Sparks and he pulled it clean the next day. He leaves no trick unpulled.
There will be another late session at TRP this weekend, but this time there's a reason. It's Christmas! Check Albe's or TRP's new site for details. See you all there! ~Hanan Who's Been Naughty?-December 31st,2007 TRP was robbed on the 27th. As you probably know, the loot includes cash, tv's, and some bmx and skate stuff. If you have any idea where the stuff is or who done it, you should come forward. Everyone in bmx know everyone else and it's unfortunate when stuff like this happens. I'm sure the truth will come out. On a lighter note, before the thievery, Albe's hosted a late night Christmas jam. Lots of people were back in town and a good time was had by all.
After putting my foot down on every attempted double peg for two years. I have finally conquered it. I don't know what the hell I was thinking all that time. It's way easier when both feet are on pedals. TONIGHT: NEW YEAR'S EVE ALL NIGHTER AT TRP...SEE YOU ALL THERE
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~Hanan
