december 2006 In the Works-December 4th, 2006 This past week was monumental as it marked the much anticipated return of Scott Goss. Buc and Scott go way back and he is quite an interesting fellow.
Here he is being tough after a crash back in the summer in a photo taken by Kris K at Rheese's house. By the way, Rheese is recovering well and resisting the temptation to ride.
Here he is this past week after not riding steadily for about 2 years. He's back in action though so look out. There was a little birthday celebration for Carmichael and Dane on Saturday, turning 21 and 19 respectively.
The man of the hour and his lady.
Dane being Wild in the back, Nate Powell all business in the front.
This was much too close.
Super Flipper!
Myspace photo fodder.
Sassy is working on getting this product to the masses.
He and Joe discussing marketing schemes.
Chris is from the Owosso area and is extremely good on that there bicyle. Somewhere in the neighborhood of seven years ago buc set his hair on fire on a trip from Chenga. Nate Powell's trick list is getting longer and longer.
Kevin spends alot of time in the rafters.
Jeff Tabb is not good at gambling, continue reading to find out why. Biker Ben being zen like. Basic Modern session on Sunday, good times. Ed takin a bite outta that peg.
This fellow is Tyler and I believe he's from the Lansing area. Take note of the footwear.
Yes, he has a broken foot in a cast, and yes he's doing a superman nothing on the the itty bitty box at modern.
Malcolm busted his back wheel on a flare in the last minutes of the session. His buddy is shown below.
Jeff Tabb made the mistake of betting Antonio here that he couldn't no foot can the box. Antonio is now a dollar richer and Jeff is a dollar short. Here's a preview of a couple events Scott Towne is putting together and we're helping out with. Clear your schedules.
Ramp Jams-December 14th, 2006 Sorry for taking too long between updates. We've been pretty busy lately, between school and riding and work, updating a web site takes a back seat and we're sorry. Anyway...
Bayliss is spending the next week or so down at Woodward. TRP is not the same without Bayliss.
Steve Blake demonstrates the peril of the bike harness.
Hatfiled makes an appearance at TRP. That same day the DK team showed up for a little tour of TRP. This is actually their second visit in the past couple weeks, for the first one we were slackers and didn't have the camera.
Whitesnake is a former teammate of Suchan back when they both rode for Bully. The first pic is a downside half cab whip and the second is a truck.
Zack Gerber of front flip to flat fame put on a show. I know it's a lot of pictures of one person, but this is only half the shit that went down. He rode the park like it was his own and went after some stuff that few have dared to try, like the wall slap.
Catfish is the ring leader at DK. Some other random TRP photos.
Jeff Tabb in a couple different predicaments. Jody smooth oover the street spine. She has inspired me to get my ass over to that ramp and make some attempts. My best attempts have been squirrely as hell. Props to her for making it look easy.
Malcom with a tuck no-hander as the onlookers are amazed.
These are just a couple of cool looking pictures.
Not sure what this fellow's name is...we'll call him funky tire guy.
Angelo just learned turndowns but you wouldn't be able to tell from how smooth they are.
Nick providing us with some more frightening pictures. Last time he was on this site, he was dressed as a bear drinking bear, this time is a bmxing bunny, what's next? Just a freindly reminder that there is a mini-ramp jam at TRP this Saturday night at 11pm, courtesy of Scott Towne. Check Deliverance for more.
Mini-Ramp-Jams Part 1-December 19th, 2006 This past weekend was the first in a series of mini ramp jams taking place across the great state of michigan courtesy of Scott Towne and Deliverance. The second one will go on January 13 at Michigan's oldest skatepark - SkateZoo. Finally we've got the update up. Pardon the delay. The Ramp Jam series is the brain child of Scott Towne. Just one more in a long line of good ideas. The first part of the contest involved the mini and everthing attached to it. Caution tape was used to prevent the dissenters.
Brandon Dosh showing the mini who's boss. Dane on MC duty.
Craig with wall ride tail whip. He pulled it second try.
Stewy was victorious. This is just a sampling of his mini ramp magic.
Winner's bling. Things weren't totally limited to the mini...other stunts not involved in the contest included.
Suchan dog pissing... Danger Dave no-handing...
Kris K and Dane tail whipping while taking a break from photo taking and announcing in that order...
Oh Canada 360 tailwhipping... Ben from Waterford tailwhipping...
Last, we move over the the hip for Squirrel saddle grabbbing. The second part of the night was a high jump over the hip.
Scott and Jaime making sure the measuring contraption was on point.
Jaime upped the difficulty by trying the 180 while competing in the high jump.
Brandon Dosh proved his ups again and took home the title. Kris K put together a fine video that is almost as good as the real thing, but with better music. You can take a look here. You're probably already done it, but deliverance and team young for more photos. Little bit of Modern on Sunday night.
Many sessioned a little quater that was moved over by the fence, Jaime pulled the abubaca and Davey P got all tech with the ice pic to fakie back into that little quater.
Actually tech was all around Modern, Anthony with an abubaca rail tap type thing. Jan 13-Phase 2 of the mini ramp jams!!!!!!! Thanks to Scott Towne and Team Young and everyone who came out for another fine night of bmx. Holiday Break-December 28th, 2006 Well, the last few days of 2006 are upon us and for the world in general, I don't think that the year will go down in history as one of the greatest, probably one of the worst. But on a personal level it was pretty good for Matt and I. We got this site going and got at least one other person to look at it. So to us it's a success. We keep our expectations pretty low-that way we're never disappointed. We spent the end of the year doing the normal holiday drill. Not enough riding. Here's what we did get to be part of on the bmx side of things. Chuck Stumpf, like father like son.
Govan.
You'll poke your eye out kid. Being 6'8" does not make a table any easier, Nick demonstrates.
The out of towners return home around the holiday and it's always good to see everyone again. Vinnie came back from PA.
John Reed returned a little while ago for more than the holiday. He has to have knee surgery at some point here in Michigan.
Scott Towne...or is it?
Kevin is cleared for take off. That kid is hiding a rocket somewhere. We'll finish out the year with this one. Carmickle showing off what he learned at Woodward. See Team Young for video. The next couple of weeks should be pretty busy. On Saturday we're thinking of going out to the Warehouse in Lapeer as we haven't been there in about a year. The Sunday after is...
Joe Gall doing what he does best and throwing a party. The following Saturday...
TRP local, Ricky is turning 28. he's rented out the park on January 6th and invited everyone out. We're helping to get the word out. Late session, $10 as ususal and free cake. Then the following Saturday...
Phase 2 of the mini-ramp jams brought to you by Scott Towne and Deliverance. We're thinking of going out the night before and spending the night. Making it a two day affair. Hopefully, it'll be warm enough to go out and ride Battle Creek (one of my favortire places to ride anywhere). Should be a blast.
