Vet Sessions-April 12th, 2007

So lately I have been a no good horrible lazy person an not updated the site. Well I wasn't really being lazy because school has been kicking my ass. But I'm finally caught up, sort of, and attempting to make up for lost time with all the following photos. This pretty much takes place over the last couple weeks. Alot of nice mellow session with great locals.

We can't have an update without some absurdly difficult trick from Kevin.

Chuck has a longer trick list every time we see him. He know how to keep it fun though.

Some bummer news, Nick will be heading off to the Air Force soon. I wonder if there is a plane cockpit big enough for this kid.

I don't think the hip has been hand planted the hip yet. Kyle's broken it in.

Doshinator with the most nose dive 360 ever.

Danger Dave downside no foot can.

On to Modern...

I don't know which one of them came up with this but it was sure entertaining, both for the participants and the onlookers.

See how much fun they're having?

I wish this photo would have come out a little better. I think Scott was waiting for this one. We're in the process on investing in a nice new flash. We accept donations if you want to help out with that one.

Kenny was working on this double peg all night and he finally got it pretty consistant. I understand the torture on those double pegs.

Davey with the table, Jeff with the antics, and as you can see in the background there were plenty of runts celebrating their springbreak by trying out bmx. Once they cleared out things got less intense.

Otto giving the vert ramp a rare workout. We really need that flash.

There really were a lot of session this past couple weeks with some of the veteran rider. Scott Towne was at TRP a couple times. Lots of the Cobras popping up. Jason lays one out and always tries to pay BUC for stickers. He's super nice.

The clouds actually did part momentary and allow spring to shine down on Michigan.

Govan was so happy when he learned nose picks.

This is fun little spot. Redford Steve fully recovered from his shoulder surgery just in time for spring. If only spring was just in time for him.

Silent Chris wall slap on the sub sign post.

The Westland saktepark which is still in one piece despite some rumors allowed their inital session for the year. I didn't make it out but BUC did and snapped invert of Timmy.

Sorry again for taking so long on the update, I should do much better over the summer.

Check back for updates on some upcoming special events!

Update the Update-April 26th, 2007

Since the last update when we announced the late session, TRP has hit a financial speed bump. The power has been cut off there, and we're turning the jam into a little fundraiser to help get things going again. Just because it's warm out, don't forget about Transitions. The jam will now be held during the day (as it would be a little hard to ride in the dark at night). Don is bringing out a generator to get some lights going. It'll be $10 bucks at the least, if you can afford more, Don and Melanie will thank you forever. If you only got $10, then they'll thank you for half of forever. You can ride until you can't see, well you can even ride after that if you really want to, but it's not recommened. Fun starts at 2pm. If enough people show we'll get a best trick going and maybe even some barbeque action. Please help to get the word out. You'll be thankful in the winter.

A No No-April 24th, 2007

Lately, I've let the site slip down on my list of priorties, I know, i'm bad. But consider that the reasons for the slippage; first to not fail out of school , and secondly to change jobs. Everything is pretty much taken care of in that I didn't fail and the job is nearly switched. So here are the pics that some of you have waited so patiently waited for.

I haven't rode as much as I would have liked over the past couple weeks, but buc has been making the rounds...

There are trails out in Wayne, they've been called a few things but lately buc's been calling them Hatfield's trails because he did a lot of building there a while back. At one point, I think they were called Benjamins after Stewy's dog. Anyway, some of the TRP locals have been building them up again and they're coming along. Timmy demonstrates their usefulness.

I can't decide which is the better trick.

I think this is Terry.

Random TRP happiness somewhere over the last week.

Next was a stop at our favorite...Wolverine.

Timmy doing what he does.

Kevin Jarvis was around for the beginnings of buc 's riding. He's lives in Chicago now, but has been making it back to Michigan the past few weekends. He just got engaged so if you happen to see him, give him congrats.

Jarvis is good.

One of the day's I actually did get to ride, we went out the airport with a little crew. If you haven't been out there you, you should head out and investigate. Banks everywhere and there's a pretty good hip that is a little more visible on Team Young's most recent update

John Reed.

Stewy pulled this pole slap pretty clean after a couple tries.

Then it was back to those trails again...

Redford Steve can 540 anything.

Silent Chris is becoming less silent. I think I've heard him say about 8 words now.

Then out to the Westland park. Buc has been to a few of these sessions this spring, I haven't been to one. I'm jealous.

Angelo is smooth and has got tuck no handers dialed.

Mark with no landing in sight.

Dillon stopped talking long enough to pull this one.

I really want to ride this park now. That's Phil with the table.

My major no no is slacking on my promoting duties.

This Saturday after you've used up all the daylight to ride street, be sure to come out to TRP for a late session 11pm-2am. They're always a good time, you won't be disappointed.

Keep in mind on May 12th, BBQ in Charlotte. We'd really like to make this an annual thing and hoping for a good turn out. Write it into that schudule at let us know on the Myspace so we can make all the plans. It'll be a fine time as well.

Appetizers-April 22nd, 2007

As some of you may have already heard, we are planning a few events to ring in the spring. There was some confusion and switching around of dates, but I think we've got it set now.

First, in one week there's going to be a little late session at TRP. As we're all getting ready to ride street, or dirt, or anything outside it's important to remember that it will get cold as shit around here again in a few months. We have to make sure to support parks even through the summer so we all have some place to come back to this winter. For this reason, we're holding a little jam at TRP on Saturday. The new section hasn't experienced a best trick, someone needs to break it in proper. Here are the details...

Next is what we've all been waiting for esspecially since the damn snow just wouldn't quit.

Tis the season for barbeques and bmx. We'd like to combine the two and have a bunch of people out for a good old fashion cookout. We've just got to make sure to keep order, police in Charlotte can't be too busy so I'm sure it would be a field day for them if a bunch of bikers showed up and broke some laws. The only thing you have to do is leave us a comment and let us know if you want to come or if you've got any questions. We've got to get alot of stuff to get together so it would really help to know how many people will come.

Thanks-April 29th, 2007

Much appreciation to everyone who came out and supported TRP. As there was only one day to get the word out, we were worried people wouldn't show. Of course, we were wrong to doubt the bmx community and by the end of the night the turnout was great. It was good time and everyone hung around all day and got in some night riding. It was definately an experience. I don't know if any other park has ever had a session during a black out. You all deserve a ton of credit. From what we've heard so far, TRP shouold be back in business by Thursday if not sooner.

It wasn't quite as dark as it looks in this photo, but it was still pretty dark. Don set up as many lights as he could to run off of the generators. This has to be a skatepark first. It was definately one of the most unique session I've rode.

Bayliss had this little ramp set up pop into his head in the middle of the night. It proved to be a lot of fun and provided an opportunity to let your eyes readjust to the light. He rode it until it started to rain.

Stewy leaving Earth, if only for a moment.

Anthony usually comes up with unique tricks, here he tests things out with the plain old foot jam.

Davey was airing this thing like it was a 7 ft quater. Pay no attention to that man in the background.

Once it started to rain things moved indoors and therefore into the dark. There was a little lull, but most of the people showed up around 8 and night shredding continued.

Kyle Inmyway with the double ped on the new sub. We never actually did have the best trick, given that the conditions weren't the greatest. But if we did, this would have been a contender.

Justin Larson is becoming a TRP local and is a super nice guy.

Brian usually comes with Justin and is equally super nice.

Jody gets better everyday and she can now add night riding to her trick list.

Danger Dave spent more time with both feet off the pedals than on (that's what makes him dangerous)

Jaime emerging from the darknes.

Dillon did something to get on Stewy and BUC's bad side. They were chasing him all night but never caught him. I eventually did even though it was cheap because he really didn't know I was after him. Then I felt bad, because once I caught him they taped him to the hitching post. It was all in fun though.

Jarvis made it out from Chicago again. Photo credit to Kris K. Only Kris K and all of his gadgets could fully illuminate TRP.

The whole session was a good time and it did help out TRP. Everyone had a blast and the one real mishap was not even lack of light related. Stewy and Carmichael collided going mach 10. After a little rest both fully recovered. So overall, it was an awesome session for everyone (except maybe Dillon). Thanks again to everyone that came out, and make sure to keep coming out through the summer whenever you can.

Check Team Young for more photos from Kris K.

On Sunday, we had to let our eyes readjust with a little daylight session and the Westland park.

John Reed, with an x-up in the deep end.

Carmichael fully recovered from the collision, attempting backflip to manual.

Happy to say we've got new shirts in time for summer.

Don't forget the BBQ in two weeks. Comment if you're coming!
