What I Missed and Didn't Miss-October 17th, 2007

The other day we were knocking down a wall in Buc's basement and he accidentally stepped on a nail. It went through his shoe and about an inch into his heal. We haven't rode for the last couple days for that reason, but he's dug the sock bits out of the bottom of his foot and we'll be in full effect tomorrow at TRP. I know it was forever ago but here are the photos from the Albe's barbeque that happened two weeks ago. I didn't get to go because I had a bunch of schoolwork to do so I'm living vicariously through these photos...Let it load, it's gonna take a second.

Danger Dave showed buc and friends some street obstacles that I'm sorry I missed.

The weekend after that was the D-Wack jam. As always Scott Towne doesn't disappoint. The park was exactly as he said it was. Goofily built but super fun. It's apparent that they ran out of money as the lines just stop at one end. Other than that, there were hips every where (I've been missing a good hip since Modern closed). The crowd was real good and the park provided enough unusual obstacles to test everyone's creativity.

We left bright and early, sort of, but Redford Steve still had time to style it all the way there.

People came from far and wide.

Wyatt Earp killed this park.

Tyler is a real nice guy and smooth as can be.

It's good to see Hatfield torque a turndown again.

I think this is Jeremy Ball.

I didn't catch this kid's name but he was all over the place.

Note that concentration.

As expected Dave Moon took over the best trick. The only get the full effect with with the sequence. I'll let the pictures speak.

Otto is radical.

Chris is rad too.

I'm not sure of this fellow's name either, but this photo is on the list of favorites.

Once, the park cleared out a bit runs came a lot easier and the park was even better.

I took this one.

Suchan didn't want this posted but I'm not listening. I think he gets credit just for making it across, it was a shitty set up and tough to get speed. He tried it twice but landed feet first both times.

On the way home we stopped by Battle Creek for a little under the bridge in the dark session.

I think Bayliss liked this little sub more than the park.

Carmickle on a tall vert ramp in the dark.

We really should do stuff like this more often. Lately we've been staying close to home so much that I forgot how good it is to ride something brand new no matter what it is. we're running out of weekends to hit the outdoor parks, but even in the snow we're really gonna make an effort to visit some unchartered territory. Thanks to Flip and Scott for setting up the last two weekends, and no thanks to me for taking so long to get it up here. Really I'll do better this week.

Buc's foot is better, TRP tonight.
