A Warehouse and a Farmhouse-February 6th, 2007 So we actually did get out this weekend and do something a little different and it felt good. Normal stuff first though, because that's great too. Mike who is actually from Lapeer came out to TRP on Friday.
I believe his name is Ben and he's from Waterford. Real smooth out of the hip, notice the determination.
Danger Dave working on the tuck no-hander to fackie. Steve Katz made our latest Veteran stickers for us. They came out really well and we may be getting another batch on account that we only have about 20 pink one's left. They went fast. You should call Steve for all your die-cut needs. So Saturday, we sucked it up in the degree and went out to the Warehouse in Lapeer. It's a fun little park with some unusual obstacles and very nice 4 foot spine. We met up there with a couple of our favorite people, Brian and Alex from Charlotte.
Alex getting used to the new surroundings.
I don't know how BUC and the camera did not get bonked while taking this photo.
Brian stylin over the spine. It is a very fine spine.
BUC handed the camera over to Alex for a little while in order to do what else-a turndown. We finished the session around 11 and were starving and there's not too many places open out there then where you can sit and eat. We managed to find a place called the Farmhouse. Surprisingly the food was pretty good and there was stuff like this to look at...
Alex likes big racks. That pretty much wrapped up the night and we all said our good byes and headed back home. Modern on Sunday went like this. Chipper with an invert. Kenny with what I hope for my x-ups one day.
It's always fun to ride with Garvoc.
Another one where I'm not sure how buc didn't get a back wheel in the face, this time with Jaime.
Craig started out the last update, and this time he is finishing it.
Two Hands are Better Than One-February 12th, 2007 This update is gonna be very short and for good reason. This past friday I took a pretty stupid fall and broke my wrist. I've gotta a nice little cast for three weeks and then a new half cast or something like that for another two. It's pretty shitty timing. At the beginning of March we were planning to take a trip to Chicago and ride Scrap which can't happen now, and Rays was all set to go on the 25th. So all that is postponed for now. This will be the longest I've gone without riding since I started and I am not looking forward to it. You always think after you fall and bust something about all the ways you could have avoided it, so far I've come up with about 150 ways I could've been smarter, but what's done is done. I remember when Scott Towne dislocated his shoulder a little while back, he was talking about changing things up or maybe thinking a little differently about stuff. I have to say I am doing the same thing. At the beginning it was really bothering me that I had screwed up, but now I'm finding humor in it. My main concern now is how I'm gonna give the finger to people when I'm driving. I guess I just gotta be thankful it wasn't my right hand and learn something from it.
This is a little drawing BUC did at TRP the other day and a bunch of people signed it. When he brough it to me it definately put a much needed smile on my face. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I've got plenty of time to work on the site now although typing is a little complicated. W're finally gonna add a new person to the locals section and as soon as the new section is done at TRP we're gonna have a jam-so get those new lines dialed! Withdrawl-February 22nd, 2007 Well I'm in week 2 of operation wrist rehad. The first week I was doing pretty good, not missing riding too much. This week it's catching up with me. I keep thinking oh I can ride on that day, then I remember that I'm broken and it's sad. But on the bright side, I've got a break in school coming up and plenty of down time to work on the site. There should be some exciting stuff to come, including a few more interviews to add to the Locals section. I guess it's just he Local section right now because Stewy is the only one there. I'm a quater of the way to a healed wrist. Heal wrist, heal! What happens when you get e few bikers together in the snow?
Well, they ride a bike of course.
Some riding did actually take place indoors.
This is opposite to Carmichael.
Not sure who this is, but he wanted BUC to get a picture of this.
Steve Byrnes was back in town momentarily, and he brought his toothpick.
Joe Gall was in the tropics while we were shoveling snow.
This is Justin Larson a.k.a. Snowball. He used to ride with BUC back in the beginning of time.
Shifting things over to modern. Kevin with the 180 barspin. If we can find a way to get the interview to him, he'll be one of the featured riders in the local section. He can seriously ride anything and he's one of the few bikers sans myspace.
As far as I know, Dosh is now the second perosn to go after the big big huge hip, from quater to quater. He cleared it pretty smooth. Scratch that he's the third. I forgot about Chase Howk, Teddy Van Orman was the first. Mike is becoming a TRP local.
Dillon eats his bmx wheaties.
Scott Goss has stuck to his word to ride more and goes big as always.
James Behring and Kev-Two very tall guys curling up into tables. Scott is practicing those peek-a-boo skills.
Stir Crazy-February 27th 2007 I'm starting to go a little insane with this damn cast. I may saw it off myself in the near future. You really realize how much riding adds to life when you can't do it. I don't think I'll be taking it for granted any time soon. One more week of this and then I get some new form of restriction on my wrist. Kevin Jarvis is a local rider who moved out to Chicago. He was in town recently and sent over this pic of buc back in the day.
Veteran may be an understatement, check out those bars. I know I put a picture of Scott Goss doing a one handed tobaggon last week, but they're just so damn cool I couldn't help but put another one this week. No good can come out of this.
I don't remember Craig diong backflips before, this must be something new.
Allen exploring the new stuff at TRP.
Timmy tempting fate.
Jaime 360 x-up. Danger Dave doing even quicker nothings. Stewy working on one-handed tables.
Carmicheal's shirt gives him power to do nothings. If you buy one, you too will do nothings. And there a picture of his long lost audition for CHiP's.
Chuck following in his Dad's footsteps.
Few people go this high over the first box. Govan is amazed. That's Kevin by the way. Squirrel making an appearance at TRP. I'm jealous.
Big Daddy Flipper is almost as good as his son Kase...see albe's for proof. We can always count on Dane for a fine photo. Ed Smits who is not from Birmingham. Scott Towne was going for tables over the hip, I just think it's sweet that even when he doesn't do the trick it's still so stylish...I wanna ride so bad. Just a little proof for myself really that I once rode a bike. I need that little boost of confidence now. Been getting some work done lately though. Ordered some new stickers and getting new shirts ready for the summer. I'm really done with this whole winter thing. I'm couting down the days till it's warm. As soon as it is, huge Veteran BBQ at Charlotte, keep your plans open. I'm testing out recipes in anticipation. The new additions to the locals section will be Bayliss, Craig H, Kevin, and we're gonna refresh Stewy. We don't really have a team or anything, these are just the people that are always fun to watch and ride with. We think that's enough, so we're just highlighting the people that make every trip to the park a blast. Check for those in the next couple weeks. I will be in Chicago this weekend and doing no riding which sucks(a trip to SCRAP was scrapped because of my wrist and I'm still pissed about it). But at least we'll be able to get some photos on the site that were actually taken outside the state of Michigan.
